Gathering of Artists
Coordinated by the Ames Community Arts Council and in May I’ll be hosting the group at my studio.
Here’s info from their website: “The "gathering of artists" is a free monthly get together for all kinds of local artists. Whether you are a student or a seasoned professional, working as an artist full time or in your spare time, you are invited to drop by. It's all about getting to know each other, sharing information, showing off your latest work, blowing off steam about not having time to create, finding inspiration and having fun. We have met at the Iowa Music Store, Worldly Goods, Alluvial Brewing Company, Alexander Recording Kompany, Design on Main, Dan Marks' studio, and the ISU Workspace.”

Junk Mail Migration Painting Exhibit
Enjoy an exhibition of all the Junk Mail Migration paintings at Morning Bell Coffee Roasters. An intimate experience with the work, it’s one of my favorite spaces in Ames to show. The light is stunning, the coffee is superb, and the artwork creates an immersive aviary experience.
This is exhibit is the debut of a new large work: The Red-necked Grebe. A waterfowl that migrates will be returning north in late February/early March. Come visit Morning Bell this January to see the entire 20 painting series (8 originals are available for purchase, the rest have found their forever homes). All original Junk Mail Migration Paintings are on sale for the duration of the exhibit. Claim your original painting by purchasing it here today.

Pop Up: Little Woods Takeover@ Art Festival
The Octagon Art Festival is a not to be missed celebration of regional artistry right in downtown Ames, Iowa. We love serving tea to the masses of artists and visitors to the festival. I’ll be opening up my tea apothecary and gallery for a rare Sunday appearance. Not usually a day open for Little Woods, I’m taking the opportunity to do a shop take over with my art. All my paintings, prints, zines, and stationary will be coming down to the shop for this very special art filled day.

Junk Mail Migration Exhibit
The Oskaloosa Art Center is to host the Iowa Arts Council funded Junk Mail Migration Series by Kristin M Roach. The project was initially inspired by the question, "Where does junk mail come from?" which led to identifying the impact of Boreal region’s deforestation on Iowa’s backyard, migratory bird populations. The series consists of 19 paintings and an interactive tapestry featuring data from a selection of migratory birds.
